Moleskine

Usually around this time of year I am lining up the planners/notebooks I’m going to use in the new year. But I started a new bullet journal in October and I’m not starting over in January. I still have my Hobinichi Weeks; 2 next year (one for tarot and one for highlights from the year). But I finally bought a plain black Moleskine.

“But Bre, surely you’ve had a Moleskine before?!” you’re probably asking. Dozens! But the paper is ass. This might not matter to you, but it does not hold fountain pen ink. It’s been a point of contention for me because I need good quality paper but the Tumblr aesthetic of a hardback Moleskine writer life calls me. So I went to Target and bought one.

And I flipped to the back page, cause that’s what I do in all notebooks, and I tested the paper. And it held fountain pen ink. And I tried another pen inked with glittery ink, and it held that too. And I jumped to ask my internet friends what’s going on and there was this urban legend that if your Moleskine has a blue quality check sticker, the paper will hold the ink. First, make them all that way, but second I get to carry around a (soon to be) beat up plain black Moleskine!!!

“But Bre you just said you started a new bujo in October! What are you gonna do with (yet another) notebook?” you’re probably asking. And that’s a good question. It’s called Chaos Book. or Goblincore*. I can’t decide yet. That’s how unstructured it is.

I just made it up.

I know previously I talked about an Everything Book and this is just that with even less structure. So there’s a scene from a thing, there’s doodles, and lines from Blue Eye Samurai**, and quotes from Twitter about the George Santos saga I can’t get enough of. I can’t wait to beat it to shit and cover it with stickers and whatever food I’m eating and stuff.

*Spotify makes these daylists playlist for you and one of them is called Goblincore and I just love that word.

** OMG watch Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix.
