13.

We have entered the teen realm.

I…I don’t know how I feel about it. It’s fine. I mean it’s not, it’s still middle school and social media and the ever-present existence of Travis Scott but whatever. It’s fine. In lieu of a party Addy had a hotel sleepover with a few friends and they had a good time and I got to sleep alone in a suite. So I mean yes all the time let’s do this!

She is very much into art still and very good at it. All manga/anime all the time around here. I truly don’t know what else teens are into these days. I limit the amount of TikToks she can show me to like 3 a day IF THAT. A couple months ago we dropped her off at the mall so she could see a movie and hang out with friends. There’s a lot of talk online about the disappearance of third spaces (not school or home) for people to hang out but I can testify the mall is still popping.

Birthday picture day was on Go Texan Day (yes that’s a thing) so she was in Texas get up (my shirt) and we sang Texas Hold ‘Em a lot. HEY!

  1. (Obligatory comment about the passage of time and following you long enough to remember when Addy was a baby)

Congratulations on 13 years of mothering. It looks like you’re raising a pretty cool kid.

The mall reigns supreme. As your fellow Analog Girl, I am pleased.
