We went to Six Flags in San Antonio to have a thing to do this summer. Like I mean obviously Texas is an increasingly tricky place but we mitigated the consequences and sprung for Fast Passes and just went.
Back in the 90s when we had a Six Flags here in Houston, we would have Season Passes and just go to Astroworld like every week and you stand in line all day and ride a ride for 60 seconds and go to the next ride and do it all over again and then your day was over. But now, in the future, you can pay an exorbitant amount of money and pay to skip the line. At first I was like “this is some elitist shit” but I put the wristband on and we didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes to ride anything in the park. Me and Addy* rode 8 rides at Fiesta Texas on a Saturday in the middle of the summer. That is phenomenal. I won’t say it was worth the money but I don’t know how we would have made the day without it.
*Note; Brownlee did come with us to the park but we quickly learned he is not a roller coaster rider. It’s fine, we needed someone to hold the giant cups we bought.
We also did the standard issue San Antonio things; dinner on the Riverwalk and a boat tour, quick pic in front of the Alamo. Anyway it was a weekend well spent and now it’s like well at least we did this one thing the summer before it got bad here in Texas. And they aren’t saying it’s bad yet but I mean school is about to start and I can’t even get into this right now.
