What A Time

We were enamored with The Wiz Live! that aired on NBC.  We saw the commercials a few times and I’ve made Addy watch Diana Ross and Michael Jackson Ease on Down the Road a few times on YouTube, but I figured we’d give The Wiz Live a go.

Y’all.  It was so good.  So much so that Addy’s been watching it on DVR and Hulu and I’m going to buy the DVD and we’ll watch it forever.  OMG it was great.  I let her stay up late to watch the whole thing.  I live tweeted it and Twitter loved it just as much as we did.  And then I went full geek and bought this print from @squeegol on Society6 for Addy’s room.

My print from @squeegool came!!! I mean the print for the kid came!!! #TheWiz

And when it was eventually time for Addy to go to bed she asked for the Annie soundtrack and I realized we live in a time where my kid equates Dorothy and Annie, and the President of the United States with being black.  There’s Black Girls Are Magic t-shirts and hoodies  We’re gradually getting more representation in prime time TV shows (thank you Shonda) and movies and with ballerinas and StarWars characters.  It’s all so important and fantastic.  What A Time! To Be Alive!
