We went to see Dope over the weekend. It spoke to me. Like if I was in high school right now this would be my Mean Girls, my Clueless, my Can’t Hardly Wait, my American Pie. Except the kids would be more like me.
Malcolm is a high school senior that lives in Englewood but is into “white shit” like “skateboards, rock music, making good grades, and Donald Glover.”
And I was like OMG this is my life.
Anyway Malcolm and his friends are geeks and live in the hood and have a hard time getting through the day. I mean obviously, typical teen movie things. He gets mixed up with some drug dealers, Zoe Kravitz, some stoner kids, and still has to make his college interview. I mean all the things that make for a great senior year, coming of age movie, AND a banging ass 90’s hip hop soundtrack. Thank you Pharrell.
My way back when first bloggy blog was doing movie reviews in 2009 and it was an epic year in which I went to the movies 65 times . I KNOW, RIGHT. So I might add in a few movie or book reviews to my regular blogging life. Oh good times.

I totally wanna see this movie! We have been to the movies 18 times this year… that's almost the amount of movies we've seen in theater over our entire relationship O.O
