The Trifecta

As we continue to fine tune our bedtime routine, Addy has again started to request to go night-night.

This is a rouse.

Once she gets into bed, I will get whatever book we are reading, and sit outside of her crib while she settles in and gets ready for bed.  Somewhere in the middle of the first chapter I start to read, she will stand up and start her requests.

“Juice?”

“Go feesh?” (Goldfish)

“Pee pee?”

She does not want or need any of these things.  She ALWAYS wants juice.  She loves goldfish.  She just says she wants to pee so we take her pants off and then she can run around with no pants on.  That’s her thing now.

Then I’m all “no. No. NO NO NO NO. Let me read, Louis Sachar is hilarious!”  Then she might lay down for a few minutes.  Or take her go at jumping in the bed. Whatever.

And now she will run over to the shelf and grab a book before I can so SHE can read it to ME to go to sleep.

At least I am being entertained, if not by her ridiculousness, than definitely by the Sideways Stories from Wayside School.
