Halloween 2012

This year Halloween fell on the weekend.  Me and Geto Boys were trick or treatin.

Wait. That’s not what I meant to type.

This year Halloween was way more fun than last year.  I suppose having a child that is able to walk will make a big difference in your Halloween festivities.

Friday, we spent the evening with the Jones’ at their neighborhood community center.  The kids got goodie bags, got to play in a bouncy basketball lane, and be in a costume contest.  But it was pretty nippy outside, so we got some food truck bites and let the kids play in the house sans costume.

Wednesday the Addy got to wear her costume to day care because they were having a Halloween party.  I’m sure that was just the kids running around in costume instead of their regular clothes.

We also went out to YaYa’s neighborhood to see if Addy would have a go at trick-or-treating.  Between Friday and Wednesday, Houston warmed up some 30 degrees, so we weren’t going to have to rush going to all of the houses.

Starting off light, we tried YaYa’s neighbors.  That way she could still see Brownlee and Papa in the front yard and not think me and YaYa and TMite were taking her to do something crazy.  She refused to knock on the door, extend her pail, or say thank you for the neighbors candy.

When she got back to the sidewalk, she inspected her loot.

And they picked out the chocolate.

And it was good.

And she basically didn’t see the point of going anywhere else or doing anything else.  Because, she already had a lot of candy in her bucket.  But YaYa insisted the houses on the next street had decorations, and therefore candy.  So we trekked on.  Addy didn’t care about the fairies, firemen, or whatever other creatures we encountered.  She was over Halloween.

We all got our picks out of her basket though, so we were pretty much over it too. I’m sure next year will be even better.

PHOTO BOMB.

  1. Foofa!! That is just too adorable for words! I don't blame her, I was over Halloween too after the third group of "kids" that looked like they should be working knocked on my door! I ate most of the candy so we ran out pretty fast. Lol!! Loved the intro to this post! But now I have images of Bushwick Bill in my head! *shudders* thanks a lot! :-p
