1 year 4 months

This month has been extra busy.  It seems like anyway.  I feel like at any moment Addy will start speaking in full sentences.  She’s been babbling A LOT.  And although I say that like every month, I extra mean it this month.  When we look at pictures I always ask her who people are.  Now she points at pictures “who is dat?”.  She sees Scout. “Cout”.  She wants to “eat eat”.  If she gets in the tub “it’s hot”.  If she gets in the car seat and the buckle hits her leg “it’s hot!”. At daycare they sing ABC’s a lot.  So she sings it at home.  A lot.  She has up to I down pretty well.  But I’m not sure how well she could recognize the alphabet if I showed it to her.  So that’s the next step.  Probably some wooden letters or refrigerator magnets or something.

The independence is getting even stronger.  If that was at all possible.  On Father’s Day we were out to breakfast and she wanted my pancakes…and my fork.  The fork wasn’t working so she picked up the pieces of pancake and put it on the fork.  I got her kiddie silverware and that’s been working like gangbusters.  Chicken nuggets get speared.  Yogurt gets scooped.  Macaroni and cheese gets shoveled in her mouth.  Scooter is happy about this newfound skill as well because a fair amount of food ends up on the floor which is his domain.

We also dealt with the first molar popping up.  It was a doozie.  She was up and whiny and just not in a good mood.  So neither were we.  There’s the molar and a 3rd bottom tooth fully out.  She’s working on another molar and another bottom tooth.  Yay for the Keurig since sleep is not the best for all of us.

On a great note, daycare has gotten way easier.  Brownlee says she doesn’t even care anymore when he drops her off.  She will grab her bag and walk out of the house to the car like a champ.  Then when they get to daycare she just goes on about her day.  WOO!  He even got the joy of coming with me to pick her up yesterday and she ran right to him.  Yay!!!
