I’m On The Beach!

Me and YaYa took Addy to the beach on Friday.

It was hilarious.  I thought that she would be like most little kids and have an aversion to sand.  She’s been weird about standing on unstable foundation anyway.  One time I put her in some grass to take a picture and she just stood there like she couldn’t move.  Even yesterday I put her on gravel and she took the slowest steps ever and held on to the playground fencing.

But for the beach she was well equipped with her flip flops from Carter’s and her sunhat and sunglasses and swimsuit she got for her birthday and those Pampers Swimmers I bought last year but are the perfect size now.

We walked over from the condo to the beach and she was mostly looking around like “what are these birds making noises for” and she heard the ocean but didn’t really care.  Then we put her down and she walked around for a bit.  We walked to the shoreline where some cold waves were coming in and I put her feet in the water and she went nuts.

She loved it.  She tried several times to run into the ocean.  She wanted to sit in the water and splash like it was a giant bathtub.  And when YaYa kicked the waves it was the funniest thing ever.  Splashing the waves was hilarious too, until she got a mouth full of saltwater.  We were wiped after about an hour so we went back to the room and got some rest.

Then went back at it Saturday around 11ish.  The beach wasn’t packed yet.  Just a few families out with their kids, tents, and kites.  It was way sunnier so I liberally applied sunblock and sent Addy about her way.  She strutted around the beach like a pro, even stopping to watch a boy digging a hole in the sand.  She walked around the beach trash (it rained hard earlier in the week) and went right back to splashing in the water.  Baddy even joined us for the fun and realized that I was not overexaggerating when I told her the kid tried to run off into the Gulf.

We had a blast. And then she fell asleep all the way home. Yay.

Here’s some pics, they may or may not be duplicates of what’s on Facebook.  Uploads were not my friend this weekend. And neither is Picasa right now. Sorry, but you have to click here.
