Resolution Shmezolution

I try not to shit on the people who make resolutions. I get the idea of it. And honestly I make resolutions every Sunday night about how I will get something done that week. So yeah I get it, I just don’t broadcast it.
But I have found that challenges work for me. Because it’s a simple statement that you just have to get done by the end of the year.  Sort of like NaNoWriMo.  Plus if I make it something that I already do, it’s even easier therefore (somewhat) easier to complete.   I think last year I said my resolution was to have a baby. HA!

So this year I will attempt to read 30 books.  I found Goodreads last year and tried for 30 books last year and got to 23, but I kinda underestimated how much time I would be playing with the baby.  Either way I’m going for it again.  Even if that forces me more trips to Starbucks to get the job done.  I’ll suffer through it.

And there’s a nice little widget for blog havers like myself to stick on their sidebar so others can keep up with how I’m doing.  Hooray innanets.

Any of you have resolutions/yearly challenges you’re attempting?  Success or fail, at least you tried right?

  1. I think my major resolution is to focus more on myself and my happiness. Even if that means doing stuff I dont want to do. There are lots of small goals that I have planned to keep me on pace to reach the larger ones, and a lot of them are going to require medium to large sacrifices on my end, but I’m ready to commit. My top two sub goals are to focus more on progressing professionally and to lose more weight. Wish me luck. 🙂
