Halloweenie!

I’ve been against a bunch of stuff since becoming a parent. .  Halloween is one of those things.   Apparently I am less fun that I thought I would be.

It’s not really even one of those things about it being Devil worship or a Pagan holiday blah blah blah yakkity smakkity.  Maybe I’m just lazy but I’m not putting all of this work into an even the kid won’t even remember.  I only remember being a skeleton in 4th grade and a genie in 5th grade and that was just because my awesome elementary school had a fall festival fully equipped with cake walk, haunted 5th grade classrooms, and a costume contest.  And it was amazing.  But Addy is 8 months old and doesn’t even really know her name so the amount of effort I was putting into this holiday was about equal to that.

Jenni bought her a long sleeved kitty shirt (re-wearable!) . Veronica bought a tutu for some other outfits (also re-wearable!) and she already had black yoga pants.  To complete the ensemble I grabbed some kitty ears while I was in Walgreens getting prints done.  Woo.

The cuteness is free.

The Joneses were kind enough to invite us to their neighborhood Halloween thingy for the kids.  And grilled brats! So that’s the only real reason I dressed the kid up.  That and the demand for pictures.

Parker and Addy strolled around at the community center.  Watched the bigger kids hit the pinata.  And that was about that.  Oh, we did manage to get this shot:

which is cute as pie now but will even funnier to blackmail them with when they are 12.

Happy Halloween!!!

  1. I think that is a realistic amount of input. Especially at her age, she's not even asking for it, she doesn't know what it is… makes sense to me, and she's absolutely adorable, so that is a win!
