One time I had this flatbread with prosciutto and fig and it was delicious. But it was also brunch and I was probably mimosa wasted. Anyway when I saw a thing on Pinterest for whipped ricotta and fig toast I wrote it down. THEN I went to HEB and they had figs right as soon as you walked in. Kismet.
Except figs don’t taste like anything. And I was blessed with a ChristmasCold so my tastebuds weren’t 100%.
- Plain white bread
- Whipped Ricotta (see Pear Toast for whipped ricotta deets. Hint: you just have to whip it)
- Figs. They’re too soft to go through the mandolin. So just slice them with a knife.
- Roasted pistachios.
- Add honey because none of the above taste like enough of anything.
I should have used cream cheese maybe so it would be sweeter. But if you are not into sweet toasts and just want a lite snack and happen to actually care about figs then this toast might be for you. This toast is not for me. 2 out of 5 rating units.
It’s pretty though.
