Lauren and I had a few things to add to lists so we figure why not have a go at it this month.
K-beauty gel cream blah blah stuff has become really popular. I tried some in Sephora but I have really dry skin and the gel to cream whatever wasn’t my jam. This true cream aqua bomb is. I always shop online for gift sets that usually come with a travel size or eye cream or something. $38 is a hefty price for moisturizer though. I know Neutrogrena makes a hydro boost gel-cream for $22 so I might try that but I also might be disappointed. I’ll report back.
90% of the podcast I listen to are sponsored by Quip toothbrushes. Normally I’m fine with using whatever the dentist sends me home with but I got Brownlee a Quip for Christmas because we are adults and those are the kinds of gift you give. Anyway he seemed to like his and one day I was in Target and got myself one too. I can still get the refills as all the podcasts promise but I can really tell the difference between a manual toothbrush and the Quip. I haven’t traveled with it but the holder does fit over the top of the brush nicely. Brownlee has his mounted to the mirror and I keep mine on the counter cause I like to mix it up sometimes. Ha! But it’s really worth the $25 (Target price) and you get a free refill with a code inside. You can also sign up to get toothpaste delivered with your replacement brush head but that’s really a bit much.
Jasmine
I don’t know how spring is in your city, but in the past couple of weeks, the jasmine flowers have bloomed everywhere and it smells phenomenal. Go sit outside and have a coffee and read a book or eat an omelette or something.
Fight Club as Self Care (or whatever your favorite movie is)
Work has been particularly…work. But this past Friday I was at home and decided to take a break from my Veep watching to put in Fight Club. This is my all time favorite movie of all time and every time I watch it I remember why it’s my favorite. Yes Brad Pitt always but also watching the breadcrumbs sprinkled throughout the movie is always always so good. I assume this works for your favorite book or show or eating your favorite meal.
I will not preach on the ills of Instagram tactics for self care (because I did IG stories of my movie) but self care means to you whatever self care means to you.
What’s on your list this month?
Costco has two of the Neutrogenas for $20 this month (because, Costco). I have wanted to try but $20 is a big gamble to hate it but we can split the two pack if you want… I mean I still owe you $20 for JM so now my debt would only be $10 (I haven’t forgotten. Do you have venmo yet?).
My friend loves the HydroBoost line. My skin does not like any Neutrogena products and never has. As I get older and my skin gets pickier I only buy skincare that is returnable in case it sets me on fire in the first 30 days. This shit is expensive.
Thanks for reminding me about the Jasmines. I was leaving work last week, and the scent met in the parking lot, and my mood immediately altered to a peaceful one. Also, I’ve been curious about the Quip. I may give it a try. As for moisturizer, I love the Cerave with SPF15 for the daytime. And it’s only $12.
