Last Week Tonight 03.31.19

Watched.

We stumbled upon The Pink Panther (2006) on Starz Family and ended up watching the whole thing. Once Addy saw Beyonce (the first 3 minutes of the movie) we were locked in. And we all laughed. And now Addy knows the joy that is Steve Martin.

And then Addy declared Thursday movie night and we made her watch Rush Hour (1998). Spectacular.

Miracle Workers finale was this week and I’m sad such a quirky show is over. Daniel Radcliffe and a few other dead people work in the offices of Heaven and have to stop God (Steve Buscemi) from blowing up his failed experiment of Earth. It’s based on a book, Miracle Workers, and I’m kinda considering reading it. The series was only 7 episodes and I don’t want them to continue it. Like what are they going to do with Big Little Lies and a Season 2. I’m still going to watch it but what are they going to do?

I’m Sorry – S2. I don’t know how this show is going to go. I did a solid binge of S1 on Netflix and S2 just wrapped. Honestly I don’t even know what the hell TruTv even is anymore. Anyway, I love moms that curse. Andrea is hilarious.

The Inventor: Out for Blood In Silicon Valley (2019) – HBO did a documentary on Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. It wasn’t as good as the podcast The Dropout. I hear the book is better. I… I’m not going to read it.

Us (2019). I saw it. I was scared but there were no scissors in the eyeballs which was my #1 fear. I need to see it again. I will be spending the rest of the week looking up all the fan theories.

Listened.

Crimetown S2. I finished and it’s highest end of podcasting. HIGH QUALITY. SO GOOD.

Also artists are making their own playlist of their own music to get you ready for their new music. This might have always been a thing but the artist I like don’t make new music all the time. Anyway, Sara Barielles and John Mayer each made their own playlist. Yes yes.

AddiSONNED.

We had a lot of conversations this week from where we were on September 11th and HBCUs and why there are only 28 days in February but the other months have more (I feigned knowledge of Caesar and there used to not be winter months). Anyway there was a conversation in the house that went like this.

Addy: Dad. Did you know that you are the oldest in the house?
Brownlee: Yes…
Addy: But sometimes Mommy acts like she’s the oldest.
Me: oooooh!
Brownlee: You know she heard you.
Addy: …I wanted her to heard me.

Favorited.

I watched this video many, many times. In tears.
