Since we moved into the house we’ve gradually become more domesticated. I spend a lot of time on the deck drinking coffee and thinking I should be writing or working on a blog post but really just playing candy crush. We drink out there a lot and Addy has gone through several bottles of bubbles.
It’s spring time and when we come home I see all the established homes with their matchy matchy landscaping and I was like “hey we should do something in the yard.” So we did. Not like I have any clue what to do, but my dad gave us some pointers and helped with his truck and we bought some mulch and a tiller or whatever and planted shrubs and flowers. Not a ton because there’s A LOT of upkeep involved but also soon the sun will unleash her full fury on the city of Houston, Texas and it will be pointless to expect anything to survive.
Also, Addy got some Disney Princess gloves.
I also learned that it is hard as shit to build a fire in the fire pit we got as a house warming gift. You would think it just took matches and wood but it also takes lighter fluid, decent weather, and apparently a spell of some sort. I can’t keep it going without dousing the wood in lighter fluid every so often which Brownlee frowns upon.

(Please note that it was at least 80 degrees on this day. Addison is seen sporting an Elsa hoodie for no good damn reason. I told her to take it off and she said she wasn’t hot and I had a flashback to her second birthday where you might remember she wore the Hello Kitty robe despite the fact the part was Elmo themed.
And it’s been a couple of weeks and we haven’t killed them!!!!!!!
