Day 11 – Swaay
The Who:
DNCE is a super newfangled band featuring the one of the Jonas brothers as a front man. I only know this because Gabby was over when I was watching the video for Cake by the Ocean and she was like “That’s a Jonas!” and I kinda felt a way about myself because I don’t know anything about the Jonases except that I shouldn’t like them. And I really like Levels by Nick Jonas. While I made big praise about good things happening when bands take break from each other, I really speak on anything JoBro’s have done.
The Why:
Cake by the Ocean is my jam. MY JAM.
The Deets:
This isn’t even a CD. It’s an EP, just a 4 song collection from the band. I suppose it’s enough really. Kind of an old school way to do it, especially since people don’t have to buy a whole CD anymore.
The Verdict:
I liked all 4 songs. It’s fun and you can dance to it and that’s really all I was expecting. They’re more summer jams so I hope to remember to jam them in the summer, although I did have my sunroof open when I was signing. Cake by the Ocean is still my jam.

Day 12 – The Suffers
The Who:
A 10-piece band from Houston. I mean REP. RE. SENT.
The Why:
A 10-PIECE BAND FROM HOUSTON. REP. RE. SENT.
The Deets:
I went to Cactus Music some months ago (shop local y’all) and got their EP and loved the songs. And they did a Kickstarter for their full LP. Like they really do just work their jobs and play music at night kind of thing. And now the full CD is out and I didn’t go back to Cactus yet because I knew it would be packed from an in-house concert but it is streaming on Amazon.
Verdict:
YES! Granted two songs from the EP are on the full-length CD but so what. It’s just good funky music and I’m always in the mood for that. I’m bias but it’s my blog so I reserve that right. Go and get their merch and listen to the things and have a good rest of your day.
Thanks to you, I discovered The Suffers and I really can't get enough of them. Gulf Coast Soul is amazing & I can't wait to hear more music from them!
