Words and Pictures on a Wednesday 12.2.15

Addy was given a Go Fish card game in a bag for Halloween.  We opened it this week.  There’s several things that went into this delayed opening.  Mostly she had a lot of candy to eat and well, I’m not good about cleaning off the counters all the time.

Anyway we brought in the mail and the conversation went like this.  Ver. Batim.

A: Mommy.  Can I help you sort the mail?
B: Yes.
A:  Ok.  But….I can’t read ok?

We sort the mail into “keep” and “trash” and when she moved the trash pile she found the Go Fish cards.

A: Mommy. (taps cards).  What’s this?
B: Go Fish card game.
A: Goldfish? Game?  This is for kids right?  Show me how to do.

(Please note there is basically no point in correcting her ever about anything)

I get the cards open and try to explain the rules and then we get Brownlee to help her sort the pairs and go through the motions of asking the fish name and her cracking up every time she has to say “Go Fish.”

A: What’s this a crab? (shows card)
B: That’s a lobster
A: Well it looks like a crab so, do you have any crabs?

A: Do you have any of those fish that look like Dory? What are they called?
B: Well you can just say Dory and we’ll say…
A: What are these words? (see aforementioned statement about how she can’t read)
B: It’s a Blue Tarp
A: Do you have any Blue Tarp?
B: Go Fish
A: (grumbles in frustration)

After the first game I had to shuffle the cards and this lead into a whole conversation on card shuffling, playing WAR in 6th grade homeroom, and how you bridge the cards after shuffling.

A: What’s that you’re doing? When you bend them?
B: That’s called “bridge” and it’s not really necessary, I’m just showing off.
A: How can I do that?
B: I think you just have to have bigger hands.
A: (plops down on table). I can’t snap! I can’t shuffle cards! I can’t do nothing! I need bigger hands!

#WTFour Dramatics.

After I came back from the restroom I found cards strewn about the table. She tried it.

I vowed to no longer do the bridge and we worked on her shuffling and then we had to get Brownlee in the mix and then I had to explain the rules all over again.

  1. Wednesday in terms of the wordless is spent and lived for the effectiveness and subsequent terms. It is conditioned and such car cu stances are very important. The words are the form of the exchange and all imperatives. It is included for the right and reformed nature. It is coined and enjoyed.

  2. until someone more advanced in Latin than my undergraduate major tells us otherwise, I would say that they're essentially interchangeable, but if you have a situation in which you need to express
