Party Post

Right, so last week Addy turned 2.  Since her birthday was a Thursday we took some cupcakes up to daycare.  Don’t bring cupcakes to daycare unless they are instantly ready to hand them out.  Other wise kids will be poking at you until you hand them over.

Just ask TMite.

She had a good time until they sang happy birthday.  She got a little shy so I was worried it would be no good at the party.  But she did like cupcakes.

And then we went to CiCi’s

Friday we went to the Rodeo. (Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo to you non Texans).  We saw some cows and sheep and baby kangaroos.

GAAAAAAAAAH!

And the party was Saturday.  At this bouncy house place.  Whenever we go to any event with a bouncy house she’s all in it.  Except her own party.

Firstly, it was an Elmo party.  She loves Elmo.  I ordered an Elmo shirt from an Etsy shop with her name on it.  But she walked out of the house like this.

A. yes the sunglasses are upside down
B. yes that is Hello Kitty
C. yes that is a Hello Kitty robe

Whatever.  She was smiling.  Till we got to the place and she just refused to jump.  40 minutes in one room.  Of her NOT jumping.  Other kids jumped.  They had fun.  The grown ups jumped.  They all climbed up obstacle courses and slide down the slides and punched each other with big ol boxing gloves.  She didn’t care at all.

The second room was another 40 minutes of fun.  But they had giant basketballs so that got her attention.  I was amazed.

When it was time for pizza and cupcakes she kept wanting to go back and actually play with the basketballs.  Um no kid.  The best part about going to a bouncy house place is that there are teens who have crap weekend jobs and will serve your kid and ten other 1-4 year olds pizza, soda, and cupcakes. WHAT?! When a kid knocks over a soda…so what!  If they want more pizza, the teen brings it on over.  WHAT!!! They turn out the lights and get a disco ball going and boom it’s time for everyone to sing happy birthday to your kid who is in a giant foamy throne.  WHAAAAAT!

Clearly, I had fun.

I suppose Addy had a good time.  Either way I’m basically never having a party at my house.  I might see if they will do party for grown ups adults.  I’d basically just rather have a disgruntled teen serve me pizza from a Papa John’s box with a gloved hand then try to figure out who ordered crab bisque and how to split a check 14 ways.  AMIRIGHT?!

Plus you get to jump (which I would probably last all of seven minutes) and punch your friends with big ass gloves.  Sign me up.
