Easter 2012 Recap

I don’t even know if I should recap the weekend cause I know everyone just wants to see pictures.  And I still can’t figure out why I can’t insert a Picasa slideshow or whatever so I’ll see how this picture uploading thing is going to go. So, for those that just want to see pictures of Addy doing country things and in her cutie dress scroll down to the bottom.  Bustas.  Ha!

Anyway, we went to visit Naynee and all the other family in East Texas.  The last time we went up there was Thanksgiving and Addy was about 9 months and would nap a couple times a day so it was easy to coax her back to sleep in her carseat.  But now, while she can entertain herself ok in the backseat, she tends to want a little more interaction.  And she only naps once a day so it was key to hit the road right when she got sleepy.  On the way up she got kinda mad near Lufkin so we stopped at McDonalds to find the applesauce pouch I had given her to calm her down ended up all over Scout’s face.  And how dare we try and put her BACK in the seat afterwards.  She was mad from Nacogdoches to Timpson (that’s Texan for about an hour).

But we got there in one piece and she was sort of shy at first but when Naynee got out some ice cream they became BFFs. Then she got to open her Easter basket and throw that plastic grass all over the place.  Yay (sarcasm).  And when the cousins came over she quickly found that running/chasing/being chased was the best game ever.

Saturday was mostly spent outside in the yard.  Brownlee got good and dirty on the 4wheeler.  Addy was against the noise but then got more interested in what the big bikes were.  We ate popsicles and picked dandelions and kicked rocks.  Oh, and ate.  Lots.

Sunday Addy got another basket (yay more grass) with some books and trinkets and candy.  Luckily when she busted the Pixie Stick open she didn’t want her hands powdery and handed into me instead of tasting the crack that poured out.   Yay for Addy having sweet aunts for things like that because the entire Easter bunny/basket/egg concept is lost on me so there won’t be anything for her on this end.  Then we got her done up in the dress and frilly socks Jenni forcefully suggested she wear lol.  Cuteness ensued and Naynee got some great pics even though it was a hassle to keep Addy from kicking the dirt in her white clothes.

The trip home went amazingly smooth even though she only slept an hour.  I found the backseat riddled with Teddy Grahams but that was a small price to pay for no meltdowns (sorry YaYa if I missed a few of them!!!).  We definitely need to go back up and let her have more fun in the sun kicking up dirt and being country.
