Brothers…and Sister

My stupid sister has gotten me addicted to Black Keys.

 (hat by Mrs PTB)

It was a point in time when she was little and would watch The Little Mermaid every night while I would have to go to sleep and could hear it, so I knew all the words and songs and none of the actions.  And she would be awful in the morning and would act like she didn’t hear our parents and I would do whatever mundane task parents have children for.  Washing dishes.  Fetching water.  Answering the phone. Whatever.

And then we got older and I could drive and she kinda got cooler and then we’d go to the movies or the mall cause I could drive and she was like 10 and that’s the only thing we could do together.

Then she got older and started to realize maybe my movie choices weren’t too crazy and we developed an almost twin-like language which was centered mostly in movie quotes and we would play games like Taboo and people would be pissed cause how could “she was deaf, dumb, and blind” be a clue for “Anne Frank”? but it’s blatantly obvious if you had watched Clerks 2 twenty times like we did.

But then she came down at Christmas and was like “Bre! Listen to the Black Keys.  This cd is Brothers!” and I was like “No!” and she took out Camp and plugged in her iPod and I was like “why do I know all these songs already?” cause apparently they’ve been in tons of commercials and shows and what not.  And TMite’s all “just listen I said”.

And now I can’t stop and I have to hear them everyday.  It’s on my phone! I actually put them on my phone! I’m listening to El Camino right now.  By the end of the day I would have heard it at least 3 times. And I want to go see them when they come to town in April and I have to drive all the way out to the gd Woodlands.  And I want to buy a tshirt!  Gahhh!  Stupid T.

I woulda never guessed T would give me great music (except for that Mark Ronson cd lol)

  1. The Black Keys have a hold over me, too. I got 3 of their cds off ebay yesterday. I had all their songs downloaded, but I actually wanted to own their official cds. That RARELY happens. Long live The Black Keys!!
