I Want That Old Thang Back

a long time ago, I used to take pictures because I enjoy taking pictures. yes there’s the “capturing the moment” aspect of life but I mean I would clean up an area, lay out some stuff, and make a photograph. between life being life (I mean look around) and taking pictures for other people, I had gotten out of the practice.

earlier this year, Best Buy had a closeout sale on a Sony Alpha 7. it’s a mirrorless DSLR so it’s lighter than my Canon but still does the same work. and I went back and forth about it for a while and finally Brownlee was like “OMG just go get it” (because he uses the camera too). So I spent a bunch of money to re-fall in love with a hobby and I highly recommend it. This is not the place you come to for good sense.

we went to Brenham for Truth BBQ (it’s a 90-minute drive, but this is Texas so that’s lite work) and I took the camera to take some shots around downtown Brenham.

i swept and mopped the floors in the house and I then I pulled out my notebooks and albums and took some more photos. and then I came home and fired up Lightroom and added some filters. fortunately for me they have a film filter and I don’t have to lament not taking the film camera.
