Cross Contamination 08.13.15

I’m going to share some of my favorite things on the Internet so far this week.  I was going to wait until Friday but who knows what could happen by then.

Lexi.

This isn’t the post to get into #BlackLivesMatter but unless you’ve been actively not paying attention there are still necessary protests happening everywhere.  Including Ferguson, Missouri.

Right, so cut to a line of police in Kevlar vests, carrying rifles.  And then there’s Lexi.  Little Lexi in her Fall Out Boy tshirt saying she’s protecting the police.

Oh Lexi you dear, dear fool.  In true Twitter fashion, there were instant memes.  And above all, the sheer irony of Lexi in her Fall Out Boy shirt standing with the man.

Hard Knocks

The Texans are on Hard Knocks this season.  Hooray.  While JJ Watt will probably get his own TV show out the thing it’s quite fantastic.  Mostly because, duh Houston, and also our coach is great.  Also HBO.  But Shea Cerrano wrote a whole post about how great it is and you can check it out here.    

Speaking of Houston

Wednesday it was 106 degrees in Houston.  Like one hundred and six.  Normally I try to limit the heat talk and refrain from dashboard pictures of the car temperature.  But 106 on the thermometer means it feels like 120 or something else that’s unbearable and horrid.

True Detective

This time last year I was enamored with True Detective and sad about the season finale.  This year I am the opposite of whatever enamored is so please find any article talking about how stupid True Detective was this year and that is one of my favorite things online.

Matt Bellassai

If I did these weekly, Matt would be on weekly.  In true hipster fashion I been following Matt on Twitter and he’s generally delightful because he hates things.  But they let him do videos and he drinks and complains and who doesn’t like that.
