WTFour April : “Oh, Brother!”

Addison talks like Michelle Tanner from Full House.  Or Little Richie from Family Matters.  Or Olivia from The Cosby Show.

She has that younger sibling smart assedness that’s kiiiinda cute but then you’re like “who wrote these lines”.  Its a regular TGIWTFour around here.

It’s stuff like

you guys gotta be kidding me

Because honestly I would be more expecting a kid to actually say “w-t-f” in 2015.  It’s really strange.  And it’s not even about stuff you would be kidding about like “you ate all the chicken already.”

And the independence is at an all time high.  It’s to be expected from the child that insisted on holding her bottle as soon as her little hands would let her.

literally 4 weeks old

We’ve progressed from “let me do it” to “I know how to…”.  If you let Addy tell it, she knows how to:

  • whistle
  • tie her shoes
  • fold clothes
  • make mac and cheese
  • snap her fingers

Mostly I just let her.  Because people are always going to tell you what you can’t do.  I won’t be the one to constantly just shut the kid down.  So I hold the loops on the laces and let her tie it around the bunny ear or jam with her as she snaps to Katy Perry and the Commordores.  (Please find a 4-year old to sing you Brick House.)  And when she goes “what’s that in your hair? A Barbie pin?” I just say fine because you can only correct her so many times.  Seriously, after two corrections she just turns her head and stops listening to you.

And it’s that glorious time of year where the light is long enough and the humidity isn’t high enough and you can enjoy being outside in Houston and doing things so I plan to take advantage of that some kind of way.  Another beach trip.  Baseball game maybe.  Maaaaaybe a trip to San Antonio and Austin because she is foreversalty about us going on a honeymoon to Mexico.  Also because I want to record shop in Austin and would like a decent excuse to go…

  1. I'm so glad that you're getting to experience what I did as your mom, but Addy has kept caked it up a notch. Loving it!
