I bought my sister a record for Christmas because she is an artsy hipster and has a turn table and I like to buy her albums like Abbey Road and The Chronic. Anyway, the one guy from The Black Keys had a solo album and Amazon likes to give you a digital download for your albums. As they should. So it’s like we both got the record. Anywho this song is fabulous.
Chipotle
I saw this kid on tumblr (cause that’s where everything cool lies) but I’m sure he’s a Vine sensation and that’s why all videos are made on cell phones. For the vine.
Pinterest WIN!
So I read this post from Click It Up A Notch (a photo blog I lurve) about when to call yourself a photographer. Basically if you can take a decent picture on purpose, consistently. She likes to say “I’m a photographer, but I’m not taking on any clients” which is how I was when I was like “I only want to take pictures of things I want to take pictures of.” Like this.
But for now I will stick with “hobbyist”.
And after I made sure to pick up most of the coffee beans from the ground, I got a votive holder, filled it with floor beans and put a vanilla tea light in the middle. Pinterest legend has it that the warmth of the candle heats the beans enough to give off coffee smell, coupled with the vanilla of the candle it’s supposed to make your house smell nice.
Well, it actually worked! Yay Pinterest Science and floor beans and what not.
Cartoons
For whatever reason, Addy has started to watch SpongeBob SquarePants. It’s convenient because it is literally always on, but I just don’t get it. I know I sound like Catherine Keener in that pretentious rich lady movie I love (like anybody else watched it, lol). But it’s probably because I was too old for SpongeBob when he first came out. IMDB says it premiered in 99 and I can’t say I’ve seen a full episode yet. I hope to keep that streak alive. She’s also very much into Lego Ninjago and Monsters Vs. Aliens on Nicktoons.
Fine whatever.
But then the other day we were in Target and she was like “mom I like ninja turtles” and I was like “Omg I love Chipotle!” I mean “I used to like Ninja Turtles when I was a little kid too!” and then I was really like “Go Ninja! Go Ninja! Go!” but why would she know anything about Vanilla Ice?
And she saw a commercial for Power Rangers Whatever and was instantly excited and I knew my sister would love that because that was her Ninja Turtles.
Anyway, I leave you with this.
These are my favorite posts of yours!
1) You live in Houston. I implore you to eat at Mission Burrito. Or at the very least, Freebird's. Thank me later, after you refuse to return to the dreck that is Chipotle. (That is such a sin. Are the blog police going to revoke my URL now?)
2) I love that pic. Frame it and hang it in the kitchen.
3) That is a pinterest trend I can get on board with, but not with my $16 hipster coffee beans.
4) SpongeBob is awful and apparently he says a lot of random things that she will repeat. My niece does this to her mom and her mom is like where did you get that? Like his lingo is weirder than all the other kid shows.
5) I got a Party City email and it had a girly Spiderman costume, like what would happen if Spiderman went to a drag show for a night. It was weird but probably really cute on a three year old. I thought of you, of course.
She consistently picks Chipotle over Freebirds (they're across the street from each other at Royal Oaks & Westhiemer). Addy & I do frequent Freebirds for date nights #RaiseEmRight
I don't know what it is about Spongebob, but I enjoy it. I get down with the TMNT in LEGO form. I don't much care for the movie coming out whenever that's supposed to be. The best Nickelodeon cartoons though are Ren & Stimpy and Doug and Aaah! Real Monsters. I'm just saying.
That little boy…omg. I have him saved in my phone now.
