In addition to having a birthday last week, I also got a new role at work. It’s not like a big ol managerial bump or anything, same department, but it didn’t exist until Monday so I’m starting from scratch. My boss and I have been charged with the task to come up with metrics to track changes and trends and other job-speak words etc etc.
But I’ve been wondering if I should maybe start some sort of goals or something since I’m starting a new year in my life. Of course at the beginning of the calendar year I do my GoodReads challenge to see how many books I can do (see that widget on the sidebar? I’m behind). Sometimes I try and do NaNoWriMo in November to write 50,000 words in a month (not even attempting this year). Brownlee’s been saying that he wants to lose some weight by his birthday.
What do I want to do? What do I want to hold myself accountable for tracking within my own life? Do I want to re-attempt to get out and do some walking with the kid (if it ever turns to fall here)? Do I want to try and actually save some money?
Do I want to write more (yes)?
I don’t plan to be as nerdy as my potential and open up Excel to track things. I hope to use my cool new Maybook notebook (because you can never have too many notebooks) as some sort of goal tracker/journal/note keeping device.
What are some goals you’re working on so I can steal them and act like I wanted to do that too?
I've been working on getting my home more organized…I think once I feel "caught up" I'm going to get super nerdy and make a cleaning schedule. Also, I want to write more too. And get my pictures organized! Lightroom 4 is in the mail!
I want to lose weight. And start morning workouts. I tried to start eating cleaner, but I'm not sure I can afford a 100% clean eating lifestyle. Fresh = expensive! I did purchase a boot camp living social deal over the weekend and I have some personal trainer plans for when I get my refund from the gov't next year. I've been eating a tad healthier to: cooking more, eating out less, less fried foods, better choices, all that jazz. let's see if I stick with it.
