Addy’s Wild Rumpus

I don’t know how kid’s parties are rated, but I think it’s safe to say that Addy’s birthday party, no Wild Rumpus, was a success.  There were people there.  We ate good.  We had fun.  Nobody was hurt.  There was lots of cake.

My dad said he had never seen a one year old’s party where there was cars parked all the way down the block.  But we have an awesome bunch of family and friends who all came to show their love for Addy.  That’s even better than all the cake in the world (except maybe all the tres leches…).

I think one of the highlights of the party was Addy tearing into her cupcake.  I wasn’t too sure how she’d do with fire on her little tray but she was more into all of the people staring and circling around her.  And not in a good way.  But once she discovered what a sprinkle was, that’s all she focused on.  Then I gave her a dollup of frosting.  Then I broke up the cake part and she went to town.

Another great highlight for me was all the books!  It was hilarious to hear how many people said they didn’t want their book to be a repeat so people went out of their way to get a unique selection.  There were only 3 repeats!  And I’m not getting rid of the duplicates either.  She can have a travel version of a few books.  I need to stamp her name in all of them, I just wish I had people write in which book they gave her.  But no worries because everyone signed her copy of Where the Wild Things Are!  And thanks to Pinterest I now know how to save all of her cards in a simple way.  I kinda need to go back and do this with the baby shower cards.

Anyway, it was a great time and I know that she “won’t remember any of this” but one day she will look through the 648 pictures I took of the event and realize the awesome kind of people in her life.

Here’s a few (about 165) of the pics for your viewing pleasure.  I haven’t gone through and done any editing/enhancing whatsoever.  But I got 200 free Shutterfly prints from buying hundreds of dollars in Pampers so I just went ahead and uploaded a bunch.

(I hope this links works.  Photobucket isn’t cooperating for me to do a slideshow so I’m trying my luck with Google+ and Picasa.  So let me know if there are problems and I will *try* to fix it)

Thanks again to everyone who came out or even had a nice thought for Addy’s birthday party.  I can’t believe she’ll be one tomorrow!!!
