Are You Hungry or Sleepy?

It’s been soooo long since I’ve done a baby blog, since 08/30/2011 to be exact.  While by  the date it doesn’t seem that long, for a growing baby it’s an eternity…plus since then BreWrites.com has been created.  So it’s time to pop my cherry on BreWrites.com, hope it works right.  “Lots to do” in my Scott Pilgrim voice.

So let me catch everybody up on what goes on around here on a day to day….pretty much a whole lot of nothing.  She eats, she sleeps, she poops and not necessarily in that order.    But in reality, she’s high 5’n, making new sounds that I can’t even describe, and trying to take steps….not like steps in the right direction, but real life steps.  She’s so mobile and active and still hasn’t full grasped the concept of “no”, “stop” or “touch my glasses again and I’m gonna slap you”.  She’s pretty much an expert at crawling and now enjoys to pull herself up on whatever she can grip regardless if said item can hold her weight or not.

Crazy thing is her sleeping habits.  I’m really thinking she’s old enough to just go to sleep when she’s sleepy.  I mean Jesus kid, if you’re sleepy close your eyes and go to sleep.  But if I leave her in a crib, she screams bloody murder and even tries to stand up in the crib and place her head on the edge as if wood is as soft as a pillow.  No knots on her head from that yet, thank God.  So today we were on the couch and she was active very sleepy, so I just put both my hands up behind my head and didn’t lay a hand on her.  She squirmed and wiggled her way on my lap and just went to sleep…no cuddling, no screaming, no fuss.  I just want her to do that, but in her crib.  But if anybody has any remedies for this, please let your boy know, I’m dying to hear what you all have to say.

Other than the sleep thing, she eats.  Now as a growing kid I expect the baby to eat formula, baby food, snacks, and some non-spicy table.  Sounds simple enough, but this kid prefers to eat EVERYTHING!  I mean dog food, magazines, mail, shoes, or anything else that’s left to live on the floor.  Then I look at her, like “what are you eating?” she just glances at me and continues to chew.  Then I feel like maybe the baby is hungry, maybe I didn’t feed her enough, or maybe she has a hankering for new flavors?  I’m pretty sure as a kid I’ve eating plenty of stuff you’re not supposed to eat from grass to glue and plenty in between things.  But why does my kid prefer a good GQ for a meal over blended up carrots?  So is she really hungry or just very inquisitive?  Who knows?

I really didn’t have much stuff going on.  Guess we’re somewhat getting ready for Addy’s first Christmas….”yay!” (sarcastically).  I’m smart enough to know she’ll never remember this Christmas other than pictures, so I only have to seem ecstatic for those few seconds between “everybody cheese” and the end of the flash.

I’m really going to try to keep the baby blogs coming….if for nothing less than having a man’s opinion around here…”for my fans. For my fans. FOR MY FANS!” in my best Steven (from Scott Pilgrim) voice.  Gotta go, baby crying!

Sincerely,
