And they called him Sandy Claaaaaws

We went to see Santa last week.  The hospital Jenni is studenting at had a thing for the kids which included a real live Sandy Claws and he even brought the missus.

Addy had a ton of fun playing with kids and grabbing at their hats and screaming with joy when they played with her.  I always forget that she doesn’t spend a lot of time with kids so she doesn’t really know what to do with them.  She’s pretty rough for a tiny girl and other kids don’t really like getting smacked in the face, even if she is trying to give kisses.

But then it got ridiculous when Santa came out.  First they let the patients in the hospital go first.  No problems there.  There was another line for the non-patients to be in.  To the left of Santa.  Or to the right and around the pillars.  Who knew?! Nobody! But that didn’t start lines from forming on either side.  Do you know what Santa means to kids?  Probably nothing but nightmares.  Do you know what it means to parents?  Sheer pandemonium.

Moms are strangely ruthless around the holidays.  Black Friday.  Santa lines.  I don’t even want to see the after Christmas sales.  But some of the moms were really nice.  And some of the kids were super fun.  It’s always amazing to see kids with disabilities just be kids.  Like they don’t care about their wheelchairs they just wanted to see Santa and have a good time.  Good time for the kids.

And here’s the shot with Addy and Sandy.  He wasn’t really into it.

Addy couldn’t care less.  She was just kinda like “who’s this guy”.  She didn’t grab his beard like I thought she would.  Or knock his glasses off.  She was actually more interested in Jenni off to the side.

But she’s really too little to care anything about Santa at all.  Will I teach her about Santa?  I’m sure I will cause mostly you don’t want your kid to be that jerk that will ruin Santa for the rest of the kids.  Also it’s just fun.  My mom still writes “From: Santa” on our gifts in her ultra neat handwriting that initially gave it away in the first place.

And also look at the awesomeness that is her shirt:

From www.wittybitty.etsy.com.  I’m 1000% sure there will be more shirts from this site in the future.
