Amy. AMY. AMY!

I got the “new” Amy Winehouse cd today.  I was happy.  I was sad.  By the end of the cd I was almost teary.  Maybe I’m more sensitive now with these post baby hormones, but I’m still sad about Amy’s passing.

Normally I’m not too phased by celebrity deaths.  I’m kind of desensitized like that.  But I was so so sad about Amy.  I think mostly because I wanted her to get better and keep making more music.  It’s like we went to school together or something and I knew her, but I didn’t know know her like that to say we were friends but we had a class and she was cool and I wished the best for her.  That kind of closeness.

Anyway, the new cd is Amy Winehouse Lioness:  Hidden Treasures.  Remember how last week I booted Florence for Childish Gambino?  Donald will have to sit tight for a minute while I jam Amy.  Here’s the track listing:

So it’s mostly b-sides and covers and they’re new to me because although I have bootlegs and other other b-sides, who wouldn’t want more?!

And the best part?  LINER NOTES!

There’s little notes from Mark Ronson and SaLaAM ReMI, the producers with little stories of when they heard Amy sing the song and what not.  Some words from the Winehouses, and….LYRICS! Holy crap! When’s the last time you’ve seen words in the liner notes?!
