Blue Trees!

Addy’s godfather called me earlier last week and told me that he drove by a bunch of blue trees and thought it would be something I would want to take pictures of.

He was right!

I did some Googling and found out that it’s actually an art piece by Konstantin Dimpopulos.  It’s an installation to raise awarness about 20130420-IMG_4426the environment.  They have a whole website about here.  It’s two big ol batches of crepe myrtles on Allen Parkway and Waugh.  The thing about Allen Parkway is…well it’s a bitch.  Maybe because I’m unfamiliar with it?  Anyway it was difficult to find parking and we didn’t want to get towed or hit.  PLUS there was an Avon breast cancer walk so there were lots of ladies and dudes out in bright pink and tutus.  Awesome.

We park.  We take a walk for a couple of blocks.  Sans stroller because, who knew.  We went past a dog park.  Past a fountain.  Past construction.  Crossed Waugh.  Walked down into the valley were the trees were.

It was worth the trek.  It seriously probably only took 15 minutes to walk there so it wasn’t too bad.  And Addy instantly ran for the trees because I mean who wouldn’t.  They’re bright blue trees.

We have a crepe myrtle right outside of our apartment so Addy tries to climb it.  That’s when we learned that this is some pigmented stuff that just comes right off.

Whatever. It wasn’t staining anything.  And the trees were so cool.  And my aperture setting was too low so a lot of the pictures are out of focus.  But it’s ok cause I put it in “auto” focus and actually got to get into a picture. WHAAAAT.

Woo hoo!

Anyway there’s not much else to say about it.  So photobomb.

  1. I drive past these trees on the way home from work and I can never seem to remember to go back and get pictures! I am writing myself a reminder, right now! Those pics are great
